O&O AutoBackup

As the name points out, O&O AutoBackup can be used to back up your important data. The thing is that O&O AutoBackup can do two tasks – it can back up data and it can sync data. A wizard will help you create tasks for O&O AutoBackup; said wizard will allow you to choose one of three actions: copy files or folders from the source to the target, copy only modified and new files and folders from the source to the target, sync the source and target.

O&O AutoBackup is compatible with Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 and 8.1. Download an installer, run it, and a setup wizard will show up and help you install O&O AutoBackup on a PC powered by any of these Windows editions. The aforementioned setup wizard will ask you to choose between a Complete Installation and a Custom Installation.

The main panel on O&O AutoBackup’s interface lists all the tasks you created. I liked that the items in the list are color-coded. To create a new task, click the “Create a task” button from the lower right hand corner. A Task Wizard dialog will show up and guide you through the following steps:

Step 1 – select the files/folders that will be backed up (pick the source).
Step 2 – select the location where the files/folders will be backed up (select the target).
Step 3 – pick one of three actions: copy everything from the source to the target, copy new and modified items from the source to the target, sync the source and the target.
Step 4 – choose if you want to run the task just once, if you want to run it daily or weekly, if you want to run it on device connection, select the real-time synchronization option.

O&O AutoBackup is free to use for a trial period of 30 days. Every time you launch the application, a prompt will show up and tell you how many days are left in your trial. Said prompt will invite you to buy a license and subscribe to a newsletter.
